THE GLORIOUS JOURNEY OF DAV MALIGHAT
DAV Public School Malighat, established on 05/05/2004 had a mission to provide the students a quality and independent education that focused on engaging and active learning, a commitment to the environment and dedication to the school and local communities.
Located just East of Muzaffarpur town, DAV Malighat opened its doors with the total strength of 24 students only, enrolled from LKG to Std. IV. They were being guided by only three teachers – Ms. Arti Choudhary, Ms. Babita & Ms. Archana at that time under the in-chargeship of Late Ms. Nisha Sinha.
Since its opening, the school's dynamic educational environment has continued to evolve.
With additional land to grow into, the school was initially housed in Sheohar Kothi on rent, located near Leprosy Mission Hospital, Kanhauli.
The school is fortunate enough that it has witnessed the great personality Late Mahatma Narayan Das Grover, the Director of Patna Region, who created a chain of DAV institutions in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha with untiring and selfless efforts.
The foundation stone of DAV Malighat was laid by Dr. Nagendra Roy (Hon'ble Judge, High Court Patna) on 23.01.2005 in the presence of Hon'ble N. D Grover, H.S Chhillar and few other Principals.
The school got shifted from Sheohar Kothi to the present place having ground floor completed at that time on 01.09.2005 with the total strength of 75 students and 9 staff members that included 6 teachers, 2 clerks and only one 4th grade employee.
The school got the recognition from LKG to Std.VIII on 01.04.2006 with 500 students accommodated in a building with G+1 guided by 15 teachers under the in-chargeship of U.K Poddar.
DAV Malighat got affiliation of Class X in 2010 under the able guidance of enthusiastic Principal Shri N.K Rao (2008- 2012).
Gradually, the strength of the school got increased upto 1200 with 22 teachers at that time.
After that period, under the remarkable steering of Principal Jayasree Ashokan (02/07/2013-04/09/2017), the school got the height of excellence in all respect which included the affiliation of class XII during her tenure in 2014.
During the period of learned and scholar Principal, Shri Manoj Kumar Verma (05/09/2017 to 2019), DAV Malighat reached on the splendid peak of cognition and innovation.
For a very short span of time, Principal Prashant Giri also gave his best possible contribution to lead the school towards its glorious future.
The golden era of DAV Malighat came into existence when Dr. Bharati Nayak joined the school as a Principal during the Covid-19 period (2020) and is still continuing her service to lead the school to an unparalleled height of excellence.
During her tenure, the students are provided a diverse education that promotes self-discipline, sense of responsibility, social and global consciousness and excellence in learning.
The improvements in academic and cultural activities have been truly dramatic with fantastic changes that she brought in her era.
Under her guardianship, the school endeavours to provide the students better, dedicated and well qualified teaching facilities which emphasizes personality development through curricular and extracurricular activities.
The school has children friendly environment, equipped with Digital learning for all classes.
Kids can tap into their various interests with extracurricular activities and explore their creative sides.
Spacious classrooms meeting the international standard of space i.e., 1.2 sq.mt. per student is highly appreciable.
The school enables and provides every student an opportunity to participate in various National Level Exams or competitions for their exposure to the greater competitive world.

Presently, DAV Malighat has got much recognition, appreciation and achievements on Block level, District level, State level, National level and is still continuing its glorious long journey.
